Ardi Rizal discovered cigarettes at the age of 18 months. At two years old, this boy from Indonesia was consuming no less than 40 cigarettes a day.

In 2010, the entire planet was shocked to discover images of the main person concerned smoking.

Having become totally addicted to nicotine, Ardi Rizal would throw very big tantrums if he did not get his daily dose.

Very quickly, while trying to put an end to his addiction, the kid in question gained a lot of weight and took refuge in junk food, to the point of becoming obese.

Monitored by a whole team of doctors, the famous “baby smoker” (who already weighed 24 kilos at the age of two) followed a very strict diet.

As our colleagues at Sante Plus Mag write, “today, Ardi is 8 years old. He has grown up and claims not to have touched a cigarette since his treatment and follows a healthy and correct life as best he can. He eats well and eats everything: fruits, vegetables and cereals.”

The one who has caused a worldwide buzz is very careful about his weight, giving his all to get back to a normal figure. Let’s wish him much happiness for the future and congratulate him for his motivation

Sent to rehab at age four

The international community had discovered with horror this baby like no other. Two years later, in 2012, representatives of the Indonesian government, visibly embarrassed by this bad image broadcast throughout the world, had sent the little boy to rehab . His addiction to cigarettes faded little by little , thanks in particular to play therapy sessions.

Drive out evil with evil?

But in the case of Ardi Rizal, one addiction led to another. Indeed, the Daily Mail revealed in November 2013 that the little boy had, indeed, managed to cure his nicotine addiction, but that he had filled the void with food . This is how this four-year-old Indonesian became addicted to junk food, making him overweight

Dr. Nawawi, a pediatric specialist, looked into the case of this Indonesian. She told the Daily Mail that this weight gain does not surprise her, and even explains it scientifically: ”
Nicotine can disrupt the endocrine system, which can lead to insulin resistance. (…) The blood is no longer able to break down the glucose from food. And
Ardi will become bigger and bigger

But the little boy has more than one trick up his sleeve and has defied Dr. Nawawi’s predictions. Indeed, on April 18, 2017, the Chinese magazine
My China News published a photo of Ardi, now nine years old. And we can see that
all is well that ends well for this baby smoker . He has lost weight and has become a young boy without addiction, ”
who is interested in school and going out with his friends  .”
